'A Crooked Road'
I walk a crooked road to get where I am going To get where I am going I must walk a crooked road And, only when I’m looking back I see the straight and narrow I see the straight and narrow when I walk a crooked road
I sing a lonesome song to anyone who’ll listen To anyone who’ll listen I will sing my lonesome song And when I hear you singing too, the sorrow sounds hopeful The sorrow sounds so hopeful when I sing my lonesome song
And a lonesome song will be my true companion When all else has abandoned for singing of their own And a lonesome song will fill my days with gladness Make joy out of sadness when I sing my lonesome song to you
I love with all my heart there is no way of stopping I have no way of stopping I just love with all my heart Through the broken and the beautiful the bad news and the good news The bad news and the good news is I love with all my heart
And a loving heart will be my true companion When all else has abandoned for loving of their own And a loving heart will fill my days with gladness Make joy out of sadness when I bring this loving heart to you
I long to be a happy man in this life that I am given In this life that I am given I long to be a happy man And when the noise turns to stillness I see I have the makings I see I have the makings to be one happy man
And a happy man will be my true companion When all else has abandoned for happy of their own And a happy man will fill my days with gladness Make joy out of sadness when I show this happy man
And a happy man will be my true companion When all else has abandoned for happy of their own And a happy man will fill my days with gladness Make joy out of sadness when I show this happy man to you
I walk a crooked road to get where I am going To get where I am going I must walk a crooked road And, only when I’m looking back I see the straight and narrow I see the straight and narrow when I walk a crooked road

Some see life as hope eternal Some see life as a business plan Some will go to hell's inferno For screwing up their life in freedom land

Mansion on the Hill
Well, I saw an old man walking in my place And he looked at me, it could have been my face His words were kind but his eyes were wild He said: I got load to love, but I want one more child.
There's a mansion on the hill Psychedelic music fills the air Peace and love live there still In that mansion on the hill.
Around the next bend, take the highway to the sun Or the rocky road, it really don't matter which one I was in hurry but that don't matter now 'Cause I have to get off that road of tears somehow.
There's a mansion on the hill Psychedelic music fills the air Peace and love live there still In that mansion on the hill.

"My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue)"
My my, hey hey Rock and roll is here to stay It's better to burn out Than to fade away My my, hey hey.
Out of the blue and into the black They give you this, but you pay for that And once you're gone, you can never come back When you're out of the blue and into the black.
The king is gone but he's not forgotten This is the story of a Johnny Rotten It's better to burn out than it is to rust The king is gone but he's not forgotten.
Hey hey, my my Rock and roll can never die There's more to the picture Than meets the eye. Hey hey, my my.
"Powderfinger"
Look out, Mama, there's a white boat comin' up the river With a big red beacon, and a flag, and a man on the rail I think you'd better call John, 'Cause it don't look like they're here to deliver the mail And it's less than a mile away I hope they didn't come to stay It's got numbers on the side and a gun And it's makin' big waves.
Daddy's gone, my brother's out hunting in the mountains Big John's been drinking since the river took Emmy-Lou So the powers that be left me here to do the thinkin' And I just turned twenty-two I was wonderin' what to do And the closer they got, The more those feelings grew.
Daddy's rifle in my hand felt reassurin' He told me, Red means run, son, numbers add up to nothin' But when the first shot hit the docks I saw it comin' Raised my rifle to my eye Never stopped to wonder why. Then I saw black, And my face splashed in the sky.
Shelter me from the powder and the finger Cover me with the thought that pulled the trigger Think of me as one you'd never figured Would fade away so young With so much left undone Remember me to my love, I know I'll miss her.

"Ambulance Blues"
Back in the old folky days The air was magic when we played. The riverboat was rockin' in the rain Midnight was the time for the raid.
Oh, Isabela, proud Isabela, They tore you down and plowed you under. You're only real with your make-up on How could I see you and stay too long?
All along the Navajo Trail, Burn-outs stub their toes on garbage pails. Waitresses are cryin' in the rain Will their boyfriends pass this way again?
Oh, Mother Goose, she's on the skids Shoe ain't happy, neither are the kids. She needs someone that she can scream at And I'm such a heel for makin' her feel so bad.
I guess I'll call it sickness gone It's hard to say the meaning of this song. An ambulance can only go so fast It's easy to get buried in the past When you try to make a good thing last.
I saw today in the entertainment section There's room at the top for private detection. To Mom and Dad this just doesn't matter, But it's either that or pay off the kidnapper.
So all you critics sit alone You're no better than me for what you've shown. With your stomach pump and your hook and ladder dreams We could get together for some scenes.
I never knew a man could tell so many lies He had a different story for every set of eyes. How can he remember who he's talkin' to? 'Cause I know it ain't me, and I hope it isn't you.
Well, I'm up in T.O. keepin' jive alive, And out on the corner it's half past five. But the subways are empty And so are the cafes.
Except for the Farmer's Market And I still can hear him say: You're all just pissin' in the wind You don't know it but you are.
And there ain't nothin' like a friend Who can tell you you're just pissin' in the wind.
I never knew a man could tell so many lies He had a different story for every set of eyes How can he remember who he's talking to? Cause I know it ain't me, and hope it isn't you.

"Needle And The Damage Done"
I caught you knockin' at my cellar door I love you, baby, can I have some more Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and I lost my band I watched the needle take another man Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song because I love the man I know that some of you don't understand Milk-blood to keep from running out.
I've seen the needle and the damage done A little part of it in everyone But every junkie's like a settin' sun.
"A Man Needs A Maid"
My life is changing in so many ways I don't know who to trust anymore There's a shadow running thru my days Like a beggar going from door to door.
I was thinking that maybe I'd get a maid Find a place nearby for her to stay. Just someone to keep my house clean, Fix my meals and go away.
A maid. A man needs a maid. A maid.
It's hard to make that change When life and love turns strange. And old.
To give a love, you gotta live a love. To live a love, you gotta be "part of" When will I see you again?
A while ago somewhere I don't know when I was watching a movie with a friend. I fell in love with the actress. She was playing a part that I could understand.
A maid. A man needs a maid. A maid.
When will I see you again?

Well, I dreamed I saw the knights in armor coming Sayin' something about a queen There were peasants singin' and drummers drumming And the archer split the tree There was a fanfare blowin' to the sun That floated on the breeze Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies Look at mother nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
I was lyin' in a burned out basement With a full moon in my eyes I was hopin' for a replacement When the sun burst through the skies There was a band playin' in my head And I felt like getting high Thinkin' about what a friend had said, I was hopin' it was a lie Thinkin' about what a friend had said, I was hopin' it was a lie
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships flying In the yellow haze of the sun There were children crying and colors flying All around the chosen ones All in a dream, all in a dream The loading had begun Flyin' mother nature's silver seed To a new home in the sun Flyin' mother nature's silver seed To a new home in the sun

Réplica de la pedalera Whizzer
A device created specifically for Young, which physically changes the amplifier's settings to pre-set combinations. This device is connected to footswitches operable by Young onstage in the manner of an effects pedal.
Young uses a custom-made amp-control switching device known simply as “the Whizzer.” Consisting of two parts, the foot controller and the mechanical automated switching device that physically turns the amps knobs, the Whizzer allows Young to stomp a footswitch on the floor to command the unit to twist the Deluxe’s volume and tone controls to any of a number of carefully determined preset positions. As such, and rather incredibly—if you’re familiar with the Neil Young overdrive sound—he uses no booster, overdrive, or distortion pedals to achieve his unhinged tone; just the little 50-year-old tweed Deluxe, and the Whizzer.
- DGCFAD . . . aka, "Dropped Standard" Like standard tuning (EADGBE), but with each string tuned down a tone/step.
- DGCFAA Like "Dropped Standard" (DGCFAD above) but with 1st string tuned to the 2nd.
- DADGBE . . . aka, "Dropped D" Standard tuning (EADGBE) except 6th string is tuned down a tone/step.
- DADGBD. . . aka, "Double Dropped D" or "Neil Young D Modal" Standard tuning (EADGBE) except 1st & 6th strings are tuned down a tone/step.
Note: Neil has referred to DADGBD as "D Modal" in interviews, though that term is non-standard for this tuning. However many people have subsequently picked up the term, and know this tuning by that name.
- CGCFAD Combination of "Dropped Standard" (DGCFAD) and "Dropped D" (DADGBE). All strings are tuned down a tone, then the 6th is tuned down another tone.
- CGCFAC Combination of "Dropped Standard" (DGCFAD) and "Double Dropped D" (DADGBD). All strings are tuned down a tone, the 1st and 6th are tuned down another tone.

I AM A BELIEVER Neil Diamond
I thought love was only true in fairy tales Meant for someone else but not for me. Love was out to get me That's the way it seemed. Disappointment haunted all my dreams.
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer Not a trace of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer! I couldn't leave her if I tried.
I thought love was more or less a given thing, Seems the more I gave the less I got. What's the use in tryin'? All you get is pain. When I needed sunshine I got rain.
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer Not a trace of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, I'm a believer! I couldn't leave her if I tried.
Take the last train to Clarksville, And I'll meet you at the station. You can be be there by four thirty, 'Cause I made your reservation. Don't be slow, oh, no, no, no! Oh, no, no, no!
'Cause I'm leavin' in the morning And I must see you again We'll have one more night together 'Til the morning brings my train. And I must go, oh, no, no, no! Oh, no, no, no! And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.
Take the last train to Clarksville. I'll be waiting at the station. We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses And a bit of conversation. Oh... Oh, no, no, no! Oh, no, no, no!
Take the last train to Clarksville, Now I must hang up the phone. I can't hear you in this noisy Railroad station all alone. I'm feelin' low. Oh, no, no, no! Oh, no, no, no! And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.
Take the last train to Clarksville, Take the last train to Clarksville, [repeat and fade]

Firebird V There is no mistaking a Firebird V—with its unique "reversed" zig-zag body design and equally distinct headstock, it is simply one of the most recognizable of all guitar profiles. First introduced in 1963, the Gibson Firebird was the brainchild of legendary automotive designer and visionary Ray Dietrich (Lincoln, Packard), enlisted by Gibson to bolster the guitar lines of the early '60s and help solidify the company's eminent rank among solidbody electric guitar manufacturers. Dietrich's unconventional design was based loosely on both the legendary automobile tailfins of the 1950s and the Gibson Explorer, which had been introduced several years earlier.

Her releases explore a wide variety of styles: from the perfect balance of country, folk and latino elements on the award-winning Culture Swing (1992) or the collection of Mexican love ballads and border songs on all-Spanish Frontejas (1995), to the delicate mysticism of Dreaming From The Labyrinth (1996) or the joyful optimism on her bilingual children’s record Cada Niño/Every Child (1996).

SOMETHING IN THE RAIN By Tish Hinojosa
Mom and dad have worked the fields, I don't know how many years I'm just a boy but I know how, and go to school when work is slow We have seen our country's road, Bakersfield from Illinois And when troubles come our way, oh yeah, I've seen my daddy pray. There's something wrong with little sister, I hear her cryin' by my side Mama's shaking as she holds her; we try to hold her through the night And mom says close you eyes mijito, dream of someplace far from here Like the pictures in your schoolbooks, someday you can take us there There must be something in the rain I'm not sure what that means Abuelita talks of sins of man, of dust that's in our hands There must be something in the rain well what else could cause this pain Those airplanes cure the plants so things can grow Oh no, it must be something in the rain Little sister's gone away. Mama's workin' long again And me I think I understand about our life about our land Well, talkers talk and dreamers dream; I will find a place between I'm afraid but I believe that we can change these hurting fields Cause there's something in the rain but there's more here in our hands 'Buelita's right about the sins of man who's profits rape the land And the rains are pouring down from the growers to the towns And until we break the killing chains There's something in the rain
In The Night
Runnin', burning' And the lonesome whistle blows In the night, In the night There's a border moon a risin' I can hear that white freight line Lyin', cryin' Like and earth bound eagle yearnin' In the night, In the night Wanna leave the tears that bind me On a rusty rail road sign Chorus: I've been hearing stories I've been sittin' scared By the mood above denying I could ever dare Board a broken angel On a one way track Faster than the devil trailin' Trying to take me back Take it, make it All along a freedom flight In the Night, In the Night No more lyin' dreamin' cryin' wishin' I had wings to fly
In expressing his joy at the chance to produce a Jason D. Williams album, Todd Snider says, "I'd been waiting 15 years on this phone call." The Arkansas piano player retorts, "I'd been waiting 15 years to make this phone call." Snider had to put on his producer hat right away. After a day of working on the cover songs that Williams had prepared, the session was not working. So the duo started writing on the fly. Williams says, "All of a sudden, our agenda went to hell and we were just creating in there. Todd made me feel like it was ok to reach down and sing something crazy. It was just short of amazing and magical."

Enthusiastic, Reckless, Stormy, Rock & Roll in its natural state ... This explains why the Kansas City Star Pronounced Jason D. Williams as "the past and future of rock & roll." The Beacon Journal dubbed him as "The worlds greats piano player." Most importantly this reminds you of why you got into rock & roll in the first place, to get a little wild.
After seeing a live show there will be no doubt why fans and critics alike agree with that summation of the dynamic piano player from Memphis. Jason D. has the same musical innovation and on the edge attitude as Jerry Lee and Elvis.
Jason's' style is difficult to describe. From Classical to Rockabilly to County to Jazz and on to Rock & Roll, Jason D. adapts to each different concert setting he performs.
Television cameras love Jason's energy and style. He has appeared on such shows as MTV's News at Night, MTV The Week in Rock, Pat Sajak Show, LIVE! on ABC, Regis and Kathie Lee Show, VH1, VH1's This is Country, Crook & Chase, Nashville Now, Music City Tonight, Entertainment Tonight, that's just to name a few.
Jason is on the road over 200 days a year playing to crowds in every setting, from clubs to amphitheaters and many corporate sponsored events. Jason D. is unique, talented and full of raw energy. This is one act you have to see and hear to believe.
Product Description Jason D. Williams has spent a lifetime behind the piano connecting with country and rock 'n' roll greats while creating a persona that's 100% original. That rock 'n' roll history of Memphis looms large in Williams' world. He recorded for Sun Records, the early label home of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and the man who first took Williams on the road, rockabilly legend Sleepy LaBeef. Now, after decades of being celebrated for his take-no-prisoners approach to performing country and rock 'n' roll penned by others, Williams has added a new element to his artistry, songwriting. Early in 2010, Williams, who recorded for RCA and Sun Records in the 1980s and '90s, was set to return to the recording fold with Todd Snider as his producer. The two had discussed the covers they would tackle and tape had started to roll when they decided to try something different. Snider has become entranced by Williams' ability to create poetry on the spot and thought his words could easily become lyrics. And from several mad, inspired weeks of recording in Nashville and Memphis, TN the 14-track album, Killer Instincts, was born. Williams tours up to 200 shows per year. Having a visual appeal on par with his musical talent has led to numerous television appearances, among them 'Regis and Kathie Lee.' 'Nashville Now,' 'Entertainment Tonight' and various shows on MTV and VH1. A wild man onstage, he has been compared to Jerry Lee Lewis so often that rumors started in Memphis that he was the Killer's son. The influence of Lewis comes through in his high-energy performances, Williams says, but his songs get him to a different place. As he says, 'It's Jerry Lee Lewis meets Jackson Pollock and Jerry Lee Lewis meets Joe Namath.'

Jesse James and Frank James, Billy the Kid and all the rest, Supposed to be some bad cats Out in the West.
But when they dug me, And my gangster ways, They hung up their guns, And made into their graves.
Cause I'm a gangster of love, Say, I'm a gangster of love. Oh, well now, When I walk down the street, All the girls that I meet Say: "he's a gangster of love"
(Yeah!)
I robbed a local beauty contest, for their first place winner, they found her with me out in Hollywood, eating a big steak dinner. They tried to get her to go back, to pick up her prize. She stood up and told them: "You just don't realize, that he's a gangster of love"
And in the morning, gangster of love. (Uuh yeah, now!) When I walk in to a bar, girls from... from near and far, say: "he's a gangster of love".
(Alright!)
I jump on my white horse Cadillac, I ride across the border line, I rope 65 girls, I kiss them all the same time, I take 25 or 30, I put 'em all on a freight, A million dollar reward for me, In each and every state, Sheriff say "Is you "Guitar" Watson?" In a very deep voice And I say "yes sir brother sheriff, and that's your wife on the back of my horse"
Cause I'm a gangster of love I'm a gangster of love

Guitarras: Charlie's favorite guitars are his Martin D-45, his Larrivée J-10, his Taylor 955 jumbo 12-string and his Taylor W-15. He uses nearly all in concerts, all are "road guitars." Charlie also uses his Taylor 955 12-string whenever he needs the gorgeous rich tone, and it's more playable than any other 12-string Charlie has tried.

LORENA
Writers Rev. Henry DeLafayette Webster & Joseph Philbrick Webster (no relation to each other) written in 1857
Key F
(F) THE YEARS CREEP SLOWLY (F7) BY, LO - (Bb) RE - NA,
THE (C7) SNOW IS ON THE GRASS A - (F) GAIN;
THE SUN'S LOW DOWN THE (F7) SKY, LO - (Bb) RE - NA,
THE (C7) FROST GLEAMS WHERE THE FLOWERS HAVE (F) BEEN.
BUT MY (Dm) HEART BEATS ON AS WARMLY (Am) NOW,
AS (A7) WHEN THE SUMMER DAYS WERE (Dm) NIGH; (C7)
THE (F) SUN CAN NEVER (F7) DIP SO (Bb) LOW,
OR (C7) DOWN AFFECTIONS CLOUDLESS (F) SKY.
A HUNDRED MONTHS HAVE PASSED, LORENA, SINCE LAST I HELD THAT HAND IN MINE, AND FELT THE PULSE BEAT FAST, LORENA, THOUGH MINE BEAT FASTER FAR THAN THINE. A HUNDRED MONTHS, 'TWAS FLOWERY MAY, WHEN UP THE HILLY SLOPE WE CLIMBED, TO WATCH THE DYING OF THE DAY, AND HEAR THE DISTANT CHURCH BELLS CHIME.
WE LOVED EACH OTHER THEN, LORENA, MORE THAN WE EVER DARED TO TELL; AND WHAT WE MIGHT HAVE BEEN, LORENA, HAD BUT OUR LOVINGS PROSPERED WELL. BUT THEN, 'TIS PAST, THE YEARS ARE GONE, I'LL NOT CALL UP THEIR SHADOWY FORMS; I'LL SAY TO THEM, "LOST YEARS, SLEEP ON! SLEEP ON! NOR HEED LIFE'S PELTING STORMS."
THE STORY OF THAT PAST, LORENA, ALAS! I CARE NOT TO REPEAT, THE HOPES THAT COULD NOT LAST, LORENA, THEY LIVED, BUT ONLY LIVED TO CHEAT. I WOULD NOT CAUSE E'EN ONE REGRET TO RANKLE IN YOUR BOSOM NOW; FOR "IF WE TRY, WE MAY FORGET," WERE WORDS OF THINE LONG YEARS AGO.
YES, THESE WERE WORDS OF THINE, LORENA, THEY BURN WITHIN MY MEMORY YET; THEY TOUCHED SOME TENDER CHORDS, LORENA, WHICH THRILL AND TREMBLE WITH REGRET. 'TWAS NOT THY WOMAN'S HEART THAT SPOKE; THY HEART WAS ALWAYS TRUE TO ME: A DUTY, STERN AND PRESSING, BROKE THE TIE WHICH LINKED MY SOUL WITH THEE.
IT MATTERS LITTLE NOW, LORENA, THE PAST IS IN THE ETERNAL PAST; OUR HEADS WILL SOON LIE LOW, LORENA, LIFE'S TIDE IS EBBING OUT SO FAST. THERE IS A FUTURE! O, THANK GOD! OF LIFE THIS IS SO SMALL A PART! 'TIS DUST TO DUST BENEATH THE SOD; BUT THERE, UP THERE, 'TIS HEART TO HEART.
Words by Rev. Henry DeLafayette Webster, music by Joseph Philbrick Webster (no relation to each other). Written in 1857 This is a pre civil war song which achieved wide popularity during the conflict. For some reason, the song became a particular favorite of the Confederancy and, in time, came to be identified with the Southern cause. Hundreds of Southern girls were named for the song's heroine, while several pioneer settlements and even a steamship proudly bore the name. One Confederate veteran claimed to have "heard it more during the war than any other song."
J.P. Webster, creator of the melody, was a collaborator of S. Fillmore Bennett, with whom he wrote several Civil War songs, including "The Irish Volunteer" and "The Negro Emancipation Song." Their best-known work, however, was one of the most popular hymns of all time, "Sweet By and By," 1868.
J.P. Webster also wrote, "I'll Twine 'Mid the Ringlets" 1860, which became, "Wildwood Flower."
The Rebel Soldier (Southern Appalachian folk song) by Anonymous
Oh, Polly! Oh, Polly! It's for your sake alone, I left my dear old father, my country and my home, I left my dear old mother to weep and to mourn - I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home!
It's grape-shot and muskets and the cannon lumber loud, There's many a mangled body, with dew for it's shroud, There's many a mangled body left on the field's alone - I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home!
You'll drink your fine brandy, and I will drink my wine, You can drink to your true love, and I will drink to mine, You can drink to your true love and I'll lament and mourn - I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home!
I'll eat when I'm hungry, I'll drink when I'm dry, If the Yankees don't kill me, I'll live until I die, If the Yankees don't kill me and cause me to mourn - I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home!
I'll build me a castle on some green mountain high, So, I can see Polly as she comes passing by, So, I can see Polly and help her to mourn - I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home! I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home!

No Love Is Sorrow (Jansch, Renbourn, Thompson, Cox, McShee) – 2:41
just like the songbird deep in the forest i sing praises but you never hear
deep in my body my song is silent yet content at times when you're near
please listen to me and i will tell thee all those words that have never been said
they shout inside of me but then the coward behind a weak man starts ruling my head
i never a loved thee and not one other will know sweetness that lies in my breast
'tis you that made me but have abided me to uncover my heart to the stars
no love is sorrow but now i'm happy to have thee in this world for my love
and now you must know my soul is for thee that's why this life is my sorry love
